Improvements at Houssiere Park have prompted recent 911 addressing for the road extending along the river.
Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury recently approved Houssiere Park Lane as the official name of the road that runs along Bayou Nezpique at Houssiere Park.
The park area once belonged to the Houssiere family and has been a small recreational site in the parish for many decades.
