BULLER — Jeff Davis Fire District No. 5 recently promoted its first female captain, Patience Frederick.
Frederick has been a member of the department for almost six years, beginning as a volunteer firefighter in July of 2018, moving up to captain in a mere five and a half years at the age of 27.
