A new animal shelter that has been in the works for a few years is moving along with the selection of an architectural design.
The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury were given a few options to choose from ranging in expense with the cheapest option being around a $1.5 million budget, up to $2.6 million for an option that would achieve all the desired features including housing about 60 animals.
