OBERLIN — The Allen Parish Police Jury suspended enforcement of an ordinance Monday night requiring local permitting for carbon capture and storage projects (CCS) after being sued by ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solution Onshore Storage, LLC in federal court over enforcement authority.
Jennings Police Chief Danny Semmes announced the recent outcome from a planned patrol that led to the arrest of several individuals on various drug charges.

LAKE ARTHUR — The Town of Lake Arthur Board of Aldermen recently introduced Ordinance No. 629, which would abandon two right-of-way spaces owned by the town, giving the property to adjoining landowners.
