A local man was arrested last week when he attempted to initiate an intimate meet-up with an undercover officer posing as a juvenile online. On Thursday, May 8, the Jennings Police Department Criminal Investigations Division conducted an undercover child predator operation on a social media platform, resulting in the arrest of David Bruce Reinhardt II of Jennings. Reinhardt was arrested and charged with computer- aided solicitation of a minor. The operation was set in motion after detectives received information about Reinhardt participating in inappropriate contact with a juvenile online. Detectives posed as an underage juvenile, whom Reinhardt made contact with through social media. During the course of the conversation, the suspect revealed his intentions to move the conversation from friendly to one more sexual in nature.

Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser recently reco gnized Watson’s work prom oting both youth rodeo competitors and special needs athletes throughout the state by naming her a Louisiana State Ambassador.
LAKE ARTHUR — Lake Arthur High School held its annual commencement exercises at Wilbert “Nooky” Moore Gymnasium Friday night and sent 60 graduates into the next chapter of their lives. The event started with an introduction of graduates by Senior Sponsor Macy Istre. Friends and family of the graduates were welcomed by Class President Keelie Arceneaux. Mallory Lyon then delivered her valedictorian speech and received the Valedictorian Award from Ashley Lutyhe. Lutyhe present- ed the Salutatorian Award to Ava Hall. Honor graduates were then recognized by Lutyhe. They were Mallory Lyon, Ava Hall, Kirsten Thibodeaux, Sophir Broussard, Jalea Prudhomme, Gabrielle Sellers, Keelie Arceneaux, Isabelle Chapman, Addison Abshire, Zachary Conner, Ayden Leblanc, Aaliyah Theriot, Layla McDaniel, Alayah Hornsby, Mathias Jones, Peyton Noe, Logan Brown, Ajai Ceballos, Rocco Leone and Kyra Landry.
