White sentenced to life in prison as habitual offender
A 28-year-old Welsh man was sentenced to life in prison Monday after 31st Judicial District Judge Steve Gunnell found him to be a habitual offender following his fourth felony conviction. Jalawrence Da’Neal White was sentenced under Louisiana’s habitual- offender law after prosecutors presented evidence of his criminal history, including convictions for aggravated battery, simple robbery, accessory after the fact to second-degree murder and aggravated flight from an officer.
Drive-thru clinic to offer vaccines, microchips at no cost
Two parish animal support programs are collaborating to give back to the community in the form of free, preventative care for pets.
