LAFAYETTE (AP) — In 1950, Harry Truman was president, Earl Long was governor of Louisiana and Hilma Levis was Hilma LaBauve, a 19-year-old sophomore at Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute in her hometown of Lafayette.
