A Jennings couple started the New Year off by celebrating the birth of their first child, who was also the first baby born in the parish.
Anna Elizabeth Guidry and Skylar Kyle Edwards welcomed their daughter, Julia Arie Edwards, at 7:37 p.m. on Jan. 9 at Ochsner American Legion Hospital in Jennings. Julia weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.
