LAKE CHARLES — The Calcasieu Parish Planning and Zoning Board recently halted plans for a proposed solar farm which would be located in Calcasieu and Jeff Davis parishes.
A zoning exception request by Texas-based energy company Aypa Power to allow a 375 mega-watt solar facility, encompassing 2,400 acres in rural Topsy and Gillis areas of Calcasieu Parish, failed to pass.
