Local Vietnam veteran’s sacrifice honored

A team of Jennings High School graduates are on a mission to properly honor highly decorated local heroes who served in the VietnamWar. The team has taken it upon themselves to provide a small memorial service and upgrade the faded burial stone of Albert “Billy” Sonnier of Elton after hearing of his service in the most iconic fight at LZ-X Ray, during the battle of the Ia Drang Valley, in Vietnam.
