Jeff Davis Parish road crews are making steady progress replacing two aging wooden bridges on Eugene and Verret roads in Iowa, southwest of Lacassine, with parish officials saying the work is expected to save taxpayers approximately $50,000 per bridge by using inhouse crews instead of outside contractors.
