This past Friday, the Lake Arthur (LA) Tigers and Elton Indians faced off in the long dormant Jeff Davis Parish rivalry, the Battle for Highway 26. What was supposed to be resumed last year had to wait until this year, as last year’s Week 1 matchup was cancelled due to Hurricane Harvey. The Lake Arthur Tigers came out on top, smashing the Elton Indians 42-13.
