SULPHUR - The Jennings Lady Bulldogs pushed their winning streak to five games Thursday night by defeating 5A Sulphur 60-58 in a thriller on the road. The Lady Dogs pushed their way out to a commanding first-half lead, then fought off a huge second-half surge by the Lady Tors to claim the win. WELSH - For three quarters of basketball here at Greyhound Gymnasium, the Lacassine Cardinals trailed the host Welsh Greyhounds. However, a huge fourth quarter and a late free throw by Ethan Corkran with seconds left preserved the Cards with a thrilling 64-62 win. Trailing 45-39 heading into the fourth quarter, the Cardinals out-gunned the Hounds 25-17 to edge out the come-from-behind victory to improve to 9-5 overall on the season. Following the disappointing loss, Welsh dropped to 4-7 overall on the year.
