A State Fire Marshal investigation led to the arrest of a Jennings man this week in connection with a house fire that endangered two adults.

LAKE ARTHUR — Lake Arthur High School and the community are honored to be represented by their 2025 Homecoming Court. Today’s LAHS Homecoming spotlight features three young ladies representing the sophomore class: Kennedy Grace Fontenot, Fernanda Guzman and Jillian Nicole Noe, all 15.

The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury recently approved a 90% design plan for the new parish emergency safe room, moving the project closer to the construction phase. Newly completed building design plans are on display in the police jury meeting room establishing the location and layout for the building, including interior and exterior designs.

The 44th Annual Stearman and Taildragger Fly-In event returns to Jennings. Pilots will soon be flying into Jeff Davis Parish from around the country to enjoy a weekend packed with social activities and a final “End of the Season” competition.
