Davis announces council bid
Marcus Davis is running for the District A Jennings City Council seat on March 29. He is campaigning with the slogan, “New vision, new voice, Marcus Davis for City Council District A.” “I am running for city council because just like you, I’m tired of all the noise and no action,” Davis explained. “Just like you, I have kids and family and want the best for all of us – no matter where the lines are drawn in our city.” Davis continued by saying he appreciates the growth Jennings has seen in recent years but he also believes projects should be beneficial to all residents. “We all understand economic growth and development and that some city projects are necessities because they focus on health, safety and the well-being of all,” he said. “But what about those that don’t? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see not everything is fair and equal around town and that some projects are better left right on the drawing board where they started. At present, Jennings is no ‘TV’s Mayberry, N.C.,’ but we can get there together by working hard.” When it comes to the people in his district, Davis said he is all in. The councilman hopeful wants to make a better community for his constituents.
