Celebration planned for Cardinals

FENTON — The Lacassine High Cardinals are backto- back LHSAA State Basketball Champions, and the Village of Fenton is planning a celebration for the team. The public is invited to Pavilion Park, located at 930 Third Ave. in Fenton, from 2:30-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 to celebrate the boys’ successful season. There will be free food, drinks, fan pictures, autograph opportunities and more. Organizers will be accepting donations for the event through Cash App at $LethaGordon until Thursday, April 16. The celebration is open to the public and community is encouraged to attend the recognition event to support the Cards for their hard work.

Weekend outage rescheduled

Two planned power outages in Jennings, which would have disrupted service to some residents and businesses in the area, have been cancelled.

Board term limits shot down

The Jeff Davis Parish Ordinance Committee recently discussed parish board term limits for members appointed to serve on various parish utility, fire and management boards. The committee voted to decline implementing mandatory term limits that would prevent board members from serving on parish boards for more than 10 years.
