Stipends from sales tax discussions to begin in August

Jennings student captures stars, new skills during once-in-a-lifetime experience

Most photographers spend years hoping for the chance to photograph some of the darkest skies in North America. For Jennings resident and SOWELA Technical Community College digital arts student Megan Miller, that opportunity came this summer after being selected as one of only six students chosen for a special educational trip to Big Bend National Park in West Texas, where she learned the specialized art of astrophotography beneath some of the clearest night skies in the country.
