WELSH — Live music, local vendors and family fun will soon take center stage as the Town of Welsh launches its inaugural Bayou Blues summer concert series at Sportsman Park. The free weekly series, presented through a partnership between the Town of Welsh and Jeff Davis Parish Tourism, will kick off Thursday, July 17, and continue through the end of the month, bringing nationally and locally recognized Louisiana musicians to the park.

Jeff Davis Parish officials are updating local procedures governing tax-delinquent properties following recent changes in Louisiana law designed to simplify the way local governments return abandoned property to productive use. The Police Jury Ordinance Committee unanimously recommended replacing the parish’s existing adjudicated property ordinance with a comprehensive new policy reflecting Louisiana’s revised tax lien process, which took effect earlier this year.
