Louisiana seeking extended deadline for nuclear waste plan

— Louisiana is asking the U.S. Department of Energy for more time to negotiate an agreement that could make the state a hub for nuclear fuel recycling, storage and potentially the permanent disposal of nuclear waste, as state officials begin quietly sounding out communities that might be willing to host the project.
