Welsh would score with every possession in the contest except one.

BASILE — The Elton Indians dropped a tough one Friday night as the Basile Bearcats claimed the Battle of the Bayou by a final score of 27-8. The Indians fall to 2-2 overall, 0-1 in district play. The Indians will be back in action Friday night when they welcome in the Merryville Panthers to town for another district showdown.

BATON ROUGE — Placekicker Damien Ramos connected on a 20-yard field goal with five seconds remaining to lift No. 12 LSU over Arkansas, 34-31, in a back and forth affair on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.
