WELSH — The Welsh Greyhounds used a balanced offensive attack and a stiffling defense to claim a 51-6 victory over the Grand Lake Hornets in the opening round of District 5-2A play. With the win, the Hounds move to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Indians shut out Bears

GUEYDAN — The Elton High Indians made the short trek to Gueydan Thursday night for a district contest against the Gueydan High Bears at Ed Baker Field. The Bears gave chase, but the Indians wouldn’t be caught as the game was a complete shutout moving Elton to 4-2, 2-1 while Gueydan dropped to 0-6, 0-3 in the week six competition.

WELSH — The Welsh Greyhounds moved over 500 for the season last week with a strong win over the number 10 Loreauville Tigers. That win gives the Greyhounds a 3-2 record as they enter play in District 5-2A. This week the Hounds will tangle with the always-dangerous Grand Lake Hornets to kick off league play.
