The Lake Arthur High Tigers welcomed the Hathaway Hornets this week for a battle on the baseball diamond. The Tigers walked away with a big win, ending the contest 16-1 for the home team.

ELTON — Elton High School was proud to host its third annual Elton Golf Invitational, welcoming nearly 200 student-athletes from close to 20 schools across the region. Teams traveled from nearby communities, as well as New Orleans, Lafayette and even Mississippi, to compete in a great day of golf and sportsmanship. The event showcased outstanding talent, dedication and competitive spirit from all of the participating schools.
The Jennings High Diamond Dogs recently travelled to Lacassine to take on the Cardinals in a rematch. The Cards beat the Bulldogs again with a final score of 5-4.
The Jennings High Diamond Dogs and Lacassine High Cards went head-to-head at Danny Reed Field Thursday evening. The Bulldogs pulled off a win against the Cardinals with a final score of 9-2.
The Lake Arthur High Tigers hit the road this week to take on the Oberlin High Tigers. After an intense game of hardball, Lake Arthur emerged victorious with a final score of 12-4.
The Diamond Dogs took on the Rams of Oak Hill at Danny Reed Field Tuesday night, looking to bounce back from a 10-inning loss to the Greyhounds of Welsh over the weekend.
Lacassine advances
In the season opener of Lake Arthur High softball, the Lady Tigers hit the road to take on the Basile High Lady Cats. The Lady Tigers fought hard but the Lady Cats took home the win with a final score of 10-0.
Fans packed the stands at Jennings High School on Tuesday to watch area junior high students compete in a track and field contest. Athletes participated in several events, including the relay race.
