The Lake Arthur High Tigers traveled to Dequincy recently to participate in a baseball tournament, taking on teams from throughout the state. The Tigers tussled with the East Beauregard High Trojans and the Logansport Tigers. Lake Arthur smoked the Trojans with a final score of 15-0 but fell to the Tigers, 5-9.
WELSH—TheCardinals of Lacassine High were part of a great weekend of baseball action, taking on the Bears of Gueydan at the Welsh Invitational Tournament at Sportsman Park. Lacassine used solid pitching from Conner Miller and timely hitting to prevail by a score of 15-0.
WELSH — The second game of the Welsh Greyhound Baseball Tournament at Sportsman Park Thursday night saw the hosts taking a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Diamond Dogs of Jennings High.
PITKIN — The quarterfinal game between Class B No. 7 Hathaway Lady Hornets and No. 2 Pitkin Lady Tigers proved that basketball can be a game of scoring runs. Hathaway bolted out to an 8-0 lead early in the first period, but a run by Pitkin gave the Lady Tigers a 25-18 halftime lead.
HATHAWAY — After receiving a first-round bye in the bidistrict round of the Class B girls’ playoffs, the No.7 Hathaway Lady Hornets hosted the No. 10 Glenmora Lady Wildcats.
Lake Arthur pulls consecutive wins
LAKE ARTHUR — The No. 6 seed Lake Arthur High Lady Tigers hosted the No. 22 seed Homer High Lady Pelicans Monday night at Nookie Moore Gymnasium. The Lady Tigers claimed the Division IV Regional title after an impressive 37-point win over the Lady Pelicans, with a final score of 66-29. The win secures their spot in the 2026 LHSAA Girls’ Marsh Madness quarterfinals round.
