The Jennings boys’ and girls’ basketball teams hosted the St. Louis Saints in the final home game of the season this week. The No. 29 power-rated Lady Bulldogs needed a win to improve their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. The Lady Saints took a 23-13 halftime lead and would go on to win 51-31 keeping the Lady Dogs out of the playoffs. The Jennings boys celebrated Senior Night as they honored senior players Wilton Jones and Kamareon Asberry. St. Louis would lead 36-19 at halftime and score 37 points in the second half, giving them a 73-36 win.

HATHAWAY — Hathaway High celebrated Senior Night when they hosted district rival Lacassine High on Friday night. First place in District 6-B was on the line in the boys’ game. The Cardinals, looking to avenge a loss to the Hornets, bolted out to a 38-23 halftime lead. Hathaway would rally in the fourth period, but Lacassine held on to win 72-59. In the girls’ game. Hathaway led 18-15 at halftime and would hold on to win 53-44.
