ELTON — The Jennings boys’ and girls’ basketball teams traveled north to play parish rival Elton this week. In the girls’ game, the Lady Dogs lead 20-9 at halftime, but the Lady Indians made a run and tied the game at 29 early in the fourth period. However, Jennings secured the win with a final score of 43-38 before the final buzzer. In the boys’ game, Jennings took a 2-0 lead, but it was all Elton as the Indians led 25-17 at halftime and rolled on to their 48-33 win.

ELTON — The Welsh boys’ and girls’ basketball teams traveled to play their parish rivals in Elton Thursday night in non-district play. In the girls’ game, Welsh led 26-14 going into the fourth period, but Elton would tie the game at 26 with three minutes to play. Welsh would make free throws to take a 33-30 win. In the boys’ game, Elton dominated, taking a 25-7 halftime lead and going on to defeat Welsh 45-22.
