LAKE ARTHUR — The Lake Arthur High Tigers were back in action Tuesday night as they hosted the Carencro High Bears at Nookie Moore Gymnasium. Despite a tremendous effort by Zaiden Hagger, the Tigers fell to the Bears with a final score of 60-38.
BELL CITY — The Hathaway High Hornets traveled to Bell City over the weekend to compete in the 2025 Bell City High School Annual Bruin Classic Tournament. In Thursday’s contest, the Hornets met with the South Beauregard High Golden Knights and picked up their first win of the tournament, 70-56.

Recently, Elton High School honored the members of the 1970 EHS State Football Championship team, which included a group of young men who made history and set the standard for excellence at EHS. On December 11, 1970, in Coushatta, these champions brought home a state championship, showcasing grit, teamwork and unwavering determination, according to EHS Principal Amy Gobert. “Their hard work and pride continue to inspire generations of EHS athletes and fans,” she said. “Once an Indian, always an Indian. Thank you for representing EHS with class, heart and championship spirit.”

The Lacassine High Cardinals celebrate their home win over Fairview this week on the court of John Juneau Gymnasium. The Cards defeated the Panthers with a final score of 89-75.
The Jennings High boys' basketball team hosted rival Eunice Tuesday night at Gaudet Gymnasium. Looking to get their second win of the season, the Dogs' game was tied 8-8, but the Bobcats led 29-19 going into the second period, leading 46-30 at halftime. The Bobcats held a slim 64-58 lead going into the fourth period. The Dogs would make a comeback by outscoring the Cats 24-14 in the fourth period to give Jennings their 82-78 win.
LAKE ARTHUR — The Lake Arthur Tigers hosted the North Vermilion Patriots Tuesday night in a home opener at Nookie Moore Gymnasium. The Tigers came up short as the Patriots avoided overtime with a tip-in score at the buzzer, securing the twopoint win of 55-53.
With basketball season in full effect, the LHSAA released guidelines for those who choose to cheer on their hometown teams.
