WELSH - The Welsh Greyhounds used a monster night from Will Green to take down the Lake Arthur Tigers by a final of 78-59 in a district 6-2A showdown at Welsh High School Tuesday night. Green scorched the nets for 32 points in the win, and helped move the Hounds’ overall record up to 6-15, 2-3 in district play. Despite the loss, Lake Arthur had a great showing by the duo of Kenyon Boese and Ray Levi. The pair combined to pour in 42 points, with Boese knocking down five 3-pointers in the contest.
MIDLAND - The No. 2-ranked Hathaway Lady Hornets won their sixth straight contest Tuesday night in dominating fashion, blasting the No. 7 Midland Lady Rebels by a final of 77-30. The win keeps the Lady Hornets atop the district 6-B standings at 4-0, and upped their overall mark to 19-3 on the year. Hathaway will now stare down a huge rematch of last year’s Class B semifinal game tonight when they travel across Jeff Davis Parish to do battle with the No. 5-ranked Lacassine Lady Cardinals. Lacassine is currently unbeaten in 6-B play at 2-0, but missed three league games due to Covid-19 protocol.
WELSH - The No. 2-ranked Lake Arthur Lady Tigers steam rolled their way past the Welsh Lady Greyhounds Tuesday night at Welsh High School to remain perfect in district 6-2A play. The Lady Tigers put on a shooting gallery in their 91-41 victory by drilling 16 3-pointers, and placed seven players in the scoring column. Every single player that recorded points for Lake Arthur in the win notched a 3-ball. Senior Deonna Brister led the Lady Tigers with 26 points, while freshman Vivian Sketoe buried five jumpers from long range and recorded 20 points. With the win, Lake Arthur moved to 25-3 overall, 5-0 in league play. Welsh dropped to 10-16 overall, 1-4 in 6-2A contests.
