The Lake Arthur High Lady Tigers hit the road this week to battle with the St. Edmund Lady Jays. The Lady Tigers took a loss from the Lady Jays, with a final score of 2-16.
LAKE CHARLES — With the district 3-3A softball championship on the line, St. Louis Lady Saints pitcher Maddie Fullington delivered a rare complete game against the Jennings High Lady Dogs. The sophomore righty faced the minimum of 21 Jennings batters, striking out 17 to lead the Lady Saints to their 6-0 win for the district championship. The game also had a rarely seen inside-the-park home run on a bunt.
The Jennings Diamond Dogs travelled to Lake Charles to take on the Saint Louis Saints. The Bulldogs fell to the Saints 1-8.
Elton High Indians performed well during the recent State Powerlifting contes, according to Principal Amy Gobert.
Congratulations to Elton High School freshman Karly Bazinet on placing third in her weight class at the Division V Louisiana State Powerlifting Meet.
In the Sunday, March 29 edition of Jennings Daily News, it was reported Jennings High softball player Malaya Sonnier hit a triple. It was actually JHS Lady Dog Maya Fontenot who smashed the triple against South Beauregard.

ELTON — The Elton High softball and baseball teams welcomed the Singer High teams and celebrated senior night in a unique doubleheader at Coushatta Field at the Coushatta Tribal Reservation on Monday, with a temporary fence set up for the girls’ game.
The Lake Arthur High Tigers baseball and Lady Tigers softball teams welcomed opponents from Midland High. The Tiger claimed victory over the Rebels, 11-0, while the Lady Tigers fell to the Lady Rebels by a slim margin, 9-10.
