LAKE ARTHUR — The Division IV bi-district playoff round was a battle of the Tigers as No. 13 seed Lake Arthur High faced off with No. 20 seed Montgomery High. The Lake Arthur Tigers held homecourt advantage hosting the contest Friday night at “Nooky” Moore Gymnasium. It was an action-packed game as the two Tiger teams let loose for a cat-fight to determine who would advance to the regional round of the 2024 LHSAA Boys’ Basketball playoffs. Both teams brought the speed and agility of a tiger and the ball flew back and forth changing possession almost faster than you could follow. The Lake Arthur High Tigers would be the Tigers standing at the end of the contest with a win of 67-44 over the Montgomery High Tigers.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Hailey Van Lith recorded a season high 26 points as she led No. 13 LSU to a 75-60 victory over Tennessee on Sunday inside Thompson-Boling Arena. The 15,281 fans in attendance was the largest this season at Tennessee and over 4,000 more than the next closest total.

Lady Tigers fall to White Castle in final minute

The LHSAA Boys’ Basketball Brackets were released this week and have several area teams competing for the chance to make an appearance at the state tournament at the Lake Charles Burton Coliseum.
