BELL CITY — The Lacassine Lady Cardinals picked up a big win over the weekend in the Bell City Tournament by defeating the Grand Lake Lady Hornets by a final of 49-42. The Lady Cards rallied from a halftime deficit to ultimately take the win. Addison Hollier was the high scorer for the Lady Cards as she pumped in 14 total points in the win.
ELTON — The Elton Lady Indians picked up a huge win in their annual tournament over the weekend by knocking off the Kinder Lady Yellow Jackets by a final of 45-41 in overtime. Trailing in the fourth quarter, Elton was able to make a charge and knot the game to send it to overtime. The Indians kept that momentum going into the extra frame and secured their four-point win by outscoring Kinder 7-3 in bonus basketball.

LONGVILLE — The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers made it two wins in a row at the South Beauregard Tournament by toppling the Sam Houston Lady Broncos buy a final of 53-22. The Lady Tigers placed nine players in the scoring column in the win, with senior Vivian Sketoe leading the charge with 17 points. Ella Istre also hit double figures in the win for Lake Arthur by knocking down 11 of her own. The Lady Tigers were in control of the game from start to finish, blasting their way en route to a 31-point victory.
The Jennings Bulldogs moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 56-48 win over J.S. Clark Academy at Gaudet Gymnasium Thursday night. The Dogs overcame a first quarter deficit and rallied to claim the eight-point win over a feisty Clark team. Jeremy Legros and Zae Douglas combined for 36 points to lead the Dogs, with Legros canning 21 and Douglas knocking 15 of his own.
LONGVILLE — The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers opened up play in the South Beauregard Tournament by blasting the Oberlin Lady Tigers by a final score of 62-44. The Lady Tigers received a huge night of scoring from senior guard Vivian Sketoe, who dropped in a gamehigh 31 points in the contest. The two teams were tangled in a close contest at the half, however Lake Arthur went on to outscore Oberlin 30-14 in the second half to ultimately claim their 18-point victory.
