Richert Named 7th District Citizen of the Year

During the American Legion 7th District Spring Conference held at Post 15 in Crowley on March 5, 7th District National Security Commission Representative Jeff Schendel (on right) and 7th District Commander Edward Hutchins Sr. (on left) presented the 2023 7th District Citizen of the Year Award to Joel Richert (center) from Jennings. Richert was nominated for the award by Post 19 from Jennings and is now in contention for the Department of Louisiana state level award, which will be presented at the American Legion state convention in June. The 7th District is comprised of 34 American Legion Posts located in eight Southwest Louisiana parishes, including Jeff Davis, Cameron, Calcasieu, Beauregard, Allen, St. Landry, Evangeline and Acadia.
