Jennings City Council failed to approve a beer and liquor permit for Hebert’s Boudin and Cracklins LLC during their recent meeting.

Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury met recently to hear a presentation on the possible installation of electric vehicle charging stations, as well as to approve payments for on-going improvement projects.

Early voting for the April 27 spring general election begins this Saturday at Jeff Davis Parish Registrar of Voters Office, located at 302 North Cutting Ave. in Jennings. The office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 13-20 with the exception of Sunday, April 14. The upcoming general election includes a 10-year parishwide 2.61 courthouse maintenance millage renewal. Voters in the Lake Arthur, Welsh, Elton, Fenton, Kinder and Ragley areas will see additional items on the spring ballot, according to ROV Joann Blair.
