ELTON — St. Paul’s Catholic Church is set to host its much-anticipated Fall Bazaar, a festive two-day event aimed at supporting the church’s financial needs.

An area non-profit is still seeking residents who could use a little extra help with gifts for the upcoming holiday season until Thursday.

Jeff Davis Council on Aging (COA) recently received a clean bill of health and no findings of noncompliance from Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office (LLAO) for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2023. The 45-page report on the entity’s financial health was completed by the publicly certified accounting firm Darnall, Sikes and Frederick, of Eunice.

LAKE ARTHUR — The town of Lake Arthur is set to receive a federally-funded grant that will benefit the police department, covering the cost of one police officer’s salary over the course of three years.

BATON ROUGE — Louisiana Treasury’s Unclaimed Property Program has added $7.9 million in uncashed state income tax refunds from the Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR). These funds are available to be claimed now.
