LAKE ARTHUR — In a game that featured multiple fireworks, the Lake Arthur Tigers came out with the biggest boom of all by toppling the Notre Dame Pios 43-40 in a 6-2A league game. With the win, LA improved to an even 10-10 on the season, while ND fell to 10-3.
ELTON — The Elton Indians claimed their second district 4-1A contest in consecutive games Tuesday night as they beat the Merryville Panthers by a final of 55-41 at Oris Guidry Gymnasium. The No.6 Indians upped their overall mark to 15-6, 2-0 in league play. Elton rode the scoring of Damarcus Jack, Sherman Bellow and Xavier Ceasar to combine for 41 of the Indians’ 55 total tallies in the win.
LACASSINE — The No. 4 Lacassine Cardinals overcame a rough start in the first half to remain perfect in 6-B play with a 52-41 win over the J.S. Clark Bulldogs. The Cards trailed 24-23 at the break, but fought back ferociously in the third and fourth frames to earn the 11-point win. With the victory, the Cards up their overall record to 25-5, 5-0 to close the first half of district play.
