We remember the tragedy of September 11, 2001. We recall the horror of the news,the painful images and the aftermath, as the reality of what had occurred changed the face of our nation. But we also remember with gratitude the heroes who gave their lives in their efforts to rescue victims of the attacks. The courage and bravery of these men and women will never be forgotten, and their spirits will always remain a proud part of our nation’s history. In times of tragedy,a strong community will pull together, and that’s what we witnessed in the wake of September 11. A nation came together to support the communities of New York City and Washington, D.C. Americans everywhere, from all walks of life, displayed their patriotism and pride in our country. Decades later, we continue to honor the heroes of September 11, and we continue to fight for the freedoms each of us holds so very dear. May we forever remain the land of the free and the home of the brave.
