The Hathaway 10U All Stars found rivals in the Eunice 10U team, battling it out on the diamond in Crowley this week during the warmup tournament. The parish little leaguers fought hard, barely missing the win with a final score of 5-4.

KCs host golf scramble
Knight of Columbus Council 2012 recently hosted the annual Shannon and Charles Savoy Memorial KC, Our Lady Immaculate Golf Scramble in Jennings. Funds from the event go to OLI for student scholarships. Shannon and Charles were the driving force for the gold tournament for many years. Organizers for the event included knights Tommy Dunn and David Hollier as well as OLI Development Director Sarah Boudreaux.

JENNINGS HIGH SCHOOL Emma Venable has competed in several sports throughout her career as a Bulldog. From drumline and powerlifting to track and softball, Venable is a force to be reckoned with and a powerhouse of an athlete.
Cards honored by school officials
The Lacassine High Cardinals basketball team was honored by school officials this week for their 2026 LHSAA Class B State Basketball Championship title, the second year in a row. Superintendent John Hall invited the team to the school board meeting to present certificates for their accomplishment and to thank the group for their hard work and dedication.
Bulldogs host Tors
The Jennings High football program ended their spring practice when the Bulldogs hosted the Class 5A Sulphur Golden Tors on Monday. Sulphur is looking to return to its winning ways with new Head Coach David Feaster, who was an assistant at Jennings from 1981-84.
Go hounds
The Welsh High Greyhounds were named the 2026 LHSAA Baseball State Runner-Ups. Although it was not the outcome they hoped for, the team was still proud of their accomplishment. The baseball team fought hard all season and during the playoff matches, never taking their eyes off the prize.
Hounds claim state runner up distinction
SULPHUR — On Wednesday afternoon at McMurry Park in Sulphur, the Welsh Greyhounds took the field in hopes that the hard work the team had put in all season would culminate in their first-ever state baseball championship. Between the Hounds and their goal stood the Dragons of Mangham High, who were looking for their first state baseball title since 2013. Welsh put up a valiant fight, but it was the Dragons’ Day to shine, outlasting the Greyhounds with an 11-7 victory.
