Teams from schools throughout the parish, including Jennings, Lake Arthur, Welsh, Hathaway, Elton and Lacassine high schools, participated in several track events. The results of that competition were recently released.

Jennings put up fight in playoff game

The Jennings Lady Bulldogs softball team celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday when they hosted the Rayne Lady Wolves at Tom Precht Field. Jennings led 5-0 after four innings and 5-1 after five innings. Jennings would score two runs in the sixth inning to secure their 7-1 win.

Welsh High School senior Jayden Turnley was invited to the recent Jeff Davis Parish School Board meeting to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. While present, Superintendent John Hall recognized Turnley for his achievements in and out of sports.
