Cardinals crush Hathaway in district opener 76-17
HATHAWAY — The Lacassine Cardinals moved their winning streak out to 23 games on Tuesday night by toppling the Hathaway Hornets by a final of 76-17 at Charles F. Groth Gymnasium. The No.1-ranked Cards improved to 23-1 with the win, while the Hornets fell to 8-21 overall. Lacassine raced out to a 34-15 lead at the half and never looked back in claiming the big win over their district rivals. Lacassine placed all five of their starters in double figures in the win, led by Kane Broussard’s game-high 20 points. The Cards are back in action tonight when they square off with the Bell City Bruins, while the Hornets are back in action as well when they take on ESA.
