LAKE ARTHUR — The No. 3-ranked Lake Arthur High Lady Tigers hosted the No.14-ranked Mangham High Lady Dragons in the Regional round of the Division IV 2024 LHSAA Girls’ playoffs at “Nookie” Moore Gymnasium Monday night. With a huge 48-point win over the Lady Dragons, Lake Arthur advances to the Quarter Finals with a final score of 71-23.
HATHAWAY — The No.7-ranked Hathaway Lady Hornets made it two in a row in the playoffs by toppling the No. 10 Hornbeck Lady Hornets by a final of 66-42 from Charles F. Groth Gymnasium Monday night. The win advances the Lady Hornets into the quarterfinal round of the LHSAA Division V non-select bracket where they will square off with old nemesis Fairview. The two teams have met this season, with the Fairview claiming victories. However, it was just a season ago that the Lady Hornets took down the Lady Panthers for a state championship.

WELSH — The Welsh Greyhounds stepped out of district play Wednesday night for one final tune-up game before boys' playoff brackets are announced on Monday. The Hounds welcomed in the Bell City Bruins and toppled them by a final of 67-52. The No. 8-ranked Hounds moved to 15-12 overall on the season, and will host a first round playoff game sometime next week. Welsh used the dominant scoring of senior forward La'Troy Pattum to lead the way, as he poured in 21 points en route to the 15-point win.
